The starting point of the design process was the need to create a space that would function as a gallery, concept rather that a usual retail store. The small scale of the space acts as a source of inspiration and directs design challenges. The integration of the dome into the space redefines the scale and eliminates the perception of volume and perspective. The new shaped shell evolves into a temple for the precious jewels, while turning the store to an urban landmark. Display is evolving in a linear and parallel arrangement on both sides of the store. The linear lighting allows light to diffuse into the space in a progressive and harmonious way without overshadowing the exhibits. The back area of the shop serves as storage while the mezzanine floor accommodates the office area. The material pallet such as kiln-dried eucalyptus wood, terrazzo, marble, brass and coatings creates a direct dialogue with jewellery.
